Category Breakdown

Below, we get into the category itself: what it typically involves, how people tend to use it, and how to narrow your options.

They say you don’t know what you have till it's gone, but today we are much more focused on the concept of not knowing what you have it’s gone. Huh? Sorry, we’ve just been ripping a couple of toasty dabs with our new carb cap and it’s like we’ve unlocked a whole new degree of potency!

Where were we - well to answer our previous philosophical question, what if we were to tell you that you haven't been getting 100% of your dab vapor and therefore don’t realize that your experience could be much better. Would you believe us?

Well today we are here to make that point by breaking down the devices known as carb caps and explaining to you how these ingeniously simple accessories can help you get every last bit of that precious concentrate vapor.

That’s why we decided to create our very own Got Vape no cap guide to carb caps to give you a definitive reference point for everything you need to know about these devices, no cap.

What Are Carb Caps?

Carb Caps are devices typically made from glass, quartz, metal, or a mixture of different materials and are small pieces that sit on top of your banger / e-rig atomizer. As one of the most popular dabbing accessories, carb caps offer you an easy way to augment your dab sessions without actually changing anything about your rig.

There is no one traditional carb cap design, as some feature elevated creative designs, but as a rule they will sit loosely upon the banger so as to let you easily lift it up and down. Carb Caps for E-Rigs can differ as well, as some of these will physically attach to your device since you don’t have to remove it to torch your banger.

What Are Carb Caps Used For?

Carb caps are used to give you more control over your dabbing via heightened control of air flow and pressure. Dabbers love to use carb caps to achieve heightened flavors, potency, and overall quality of their vapor.

In addition to the immediate session level advantages, carb caps are also able to help you stretch the life span of your materials by letting you get 100% of their vapor, instead of losing 10-20% of it while it burns off your banger.

Additionally, when you are exhaling your dab vapor you can place the carb cap back upon your device to keep the concentrate from simply burning off into your room. Then when you’ve finished exhaling / coughing, your dab is sitting there primed and ready to go.

How Do Carb Caps Work?

Carb caps work by sitting over your banger / atomizer to act as both an air flow restrictor, vapor trapper, and pressure manipulator. All of this is physically achieved because when your carb cap sits on your banger it creates a light vacuum in which you can turn the air on / off to give you the smoothest possible vapor hits.

As you inhale your dab you can use the carb cap to alter the air flow and specifically target certain areas of your banger to ensure your concentrate is evenly vaporized. This results in a swirling vortex of air / vapor that provides you with a more evenly dispersed temperature and therefore a much tastier dab.

Many carb caps function by having you control the air flow with your thumb, while the rest of your hand is either holding or rotating the carb cap depending on its style. This makes using a carb cap incredibly intuitive for dabbers of all experience levels.

How Much Are Carb Caps?

Luckily for us Carb Caps are a highly affordable accessory! Most will go for around 10 - 40 bucks, which is an absolute steal considering how much better they make your experience. For a fraction of the cost of your original rig, you can boost its power ten fold all by picking up a compatible carb cap.

What Types Of Carb Caps Are There?

Carb Caps exist in many different shapes and sizes, so it’s important to find one that will fit the specificities of your own personal rig. To make things easy for you we’ve broken down some of the major categories of carb caps and given you the best options we have ready to ship out to you now.

One major point to know about carb caps is that for the most part they just augment your dab rig instead of changing it. This is why you should think of them almost like ornaments that you can add to your rig to make it not only more powerful, but even more visually stunning.

Traditional Glass Carb Caps

The most tried and true of all versions lies with the standard glass carb caps. These are the first to come along and are made out of durable materials like quartz and borosilicate glass in order to be able to handle the high temperature required for torch dabbing.

Two excellent examples of these traditional carb caps are available right now with the Silver Fumed Boro Glass Carb Cap w/ Air Bubble Design as well as the American Colored Carb Cap for Flat Top Banger. Both of these use large circular designs to trap the vapors and direct airflow in your banger easily.

For another option there is the Colored Boro Glass Carp Cap with Dual Directional Airflow. GV Glass Distro has hooked these up with dual directional airflow in order to give you all encompassing control over your clouds. These caps even have a special swirled glass color design to them and are the perfect dab rig ornaments.

E-Rig Specific Carb Caps

Next we have our selection of carb caps that have been specifically made for certain models of E-rigs. As these devices are much less uniform than traditional glass rigs, you need to have a carb cap that is specifically made for them to get the best functionality.

For the Puffco Peak series we have the excellent Joystick Cap and Tether that comes in a variety of 3 different standard colors and one special edition Flourish Green version.

These carb caps are excellent thanks to the joystick giving you 360˚ control over the airflow in your atomizer at all times. Meanwhile the included tether is there to make sure you never misplace your carb cap in the heat of a session! Should you happen to be joystick averse, we also carry the Desert Oculus Carb Cap which features an excellent snap on lid for air tight control.

For the Exxus Vape Go Plus Concentrate Vaporizer we have a tailor made Pro Carb Cap to help you with all of your directional air flow, even heating, and vapor trapping needs. The Pro Carb Cap has a nice ridged handle to let you keep a firm grip on your glass while placing it upon your Go Plus.
